What's wrong with my cat? what should I do?

My cat is about a year old and has always been healthy and is a very dependant loving cat always wanting cuddles and attention, however he has recently became distant, lying in different rooms huddled up by himself not eating and is now being sick. Will this pass? Also is there anything I can do to help him or make him feel better before I get my vets appointment? Thanks
