House Finches--Where's the Dad?

Birds don't lay all their eggs at once..usually they will lay one per day until the clutch is complete..so she obviously is still in the laying process. Once the clutch is complete or almost complete..she will then start to incubate the eggs. The male does not incubate the eggs, but will help feed the chicks once they hatch. He may also make visits to the nest to feed the female while she sits so that she does not have to leave as often to forage.
