What do I do with baby robins?
You touching them has NO effect! I wish people would stop repeating that lie..it is an absolute myth! Birds have a very poor sense of smell. Where exactly was the nest..and is it still there. You need to put them back in the nest so the parents can find them. The bird obviously had access to the nest otherwise the eggs would have never hatched. If you just put the chicks outside in a bowl with no coverage or protection..then obviously predators will come for them..it is like you putting out a free meal for them. You need to put the nest with the chick in it as close as possible to the original location (obviously in a safe place where predators cannot easily spot or see them). The parents should be able to hear the begging calls if they are close to the old location as they should come around looking for them. If for some reason the parents are unable to locate the nest, then the chicks would need to go to a local wildlife rehab for their best chance of survival.
