Men, when you huddle up with people to take a picture, where do you put your hands/arms when it's a woman? Man?

When you're beside a woman, is it always on her mid-lower back and while beside a man, is it over his shoulders? Or do you do the same for everyone? Is mid-lower back reserved only for lovers?
