Are my chances ruined at getting in the Coast Guard?
I started out being told no chance I'd get in at 26. I had delinquent debt and a GED. I persisted. After a year and a half (a little over) I have gone to MEPS, passed my physical, passed my ASVAB with decent scores where I qualify for every job and I set up with debt repayment plan which is now documented for proof that I'm paying on it. I also have 18 college credits as I went to school for to be considered on par with a high school graduate with the Coast Guard. Here's my problem, I got a couple minor traffic tickets a while back and since I had a CDL I couldn't do probation. So, I dropped the CDL, got an attorney and now I'm on probation for the tickets but the thing is it won't be up until two months after I turn 28 which I know you have to ship to basic (boot camp) before your 28th birthday. Also my recruiter retired so I have no idea who my new recruiter is, but I do know a lot of tge recruits who went to MEPS with me quit. I'm the last one in the group who hasn't given up. Will my probation and age situation ruin everything for me? I have spent thousands of dollars becoming qualified to get in and it's been so much stress. I really want to join this service.
