Am I scared of relationships/commitment?

I am so sorry to hear about your situation with your family. You should never let a situation like that stop you from meeting guys. I do think when u meet someone, and the time comes to introduce to your parents, you need to have a talk with them. Just say "listen, i love you and im sure you want to meet so and so, but i can't have you drinking about him. He's a guest, treat him like one" Now not sure what your $ situation is but, thought about moving out? Maybe getting a roomie?
